Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week is coordinated annually by the Mental Health Foundation.

The week helps to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing issues.

The idea is to help prompt a national conversation about what we can do as communities, schools, families and individuals to move from survive to thrive.

To support Mental Health Awareness Week on your site, you could do the following:

  • Hold toolbox talks making your workforce aware of mental health related issues and the support available;
  • Provide a confidential support network and open-door policy, to encourage workers to speak up if they have any issues;
  • Support the Construction Industry Helpline and display posters in canteens and rest areas;
  • Provide professional support via doctor or nurse visits;
  • Read the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s ‘Spotlight on… mental health’ learning toolkit, which includes case studies of how sites have raised awareness of mehttps://staging.ccsbestpractice.org.uk/spotlight-on/mental-health/ntal health amongst the workforce, as well as details of mental health campaigns and charities.

Mental Health Awareness Week runs from 13-20 May in 2024.
