Supporting a Diverse Workforce

Recently a colleague on this project began the process of transitioning from female to male. The contractor worked to normalise the fact they were transitioning.

The social value manager had conversation with them to find out what they needed from the contractor as a team to support them, as the situation new to both them and the team.

They were supported to make decisions on toilets, worked with their direct team to educate them.

The contractor publicised the tools and resources in place that could provide support to all employees who had questions or concerns and reiterated to the project team how importance a culture of fairness and respect was and indicated a zero tolerance approach to any
diversions from this.
