Hoarding Food Collection Points

Mace’s 21 Moorfields team has launched the 21 MoorFood campaign in March to collect donations to help the homeless in the City of London.

The campaign is part of the team’s ongoing effort to encourage the construction team and site neighbours to help those in need.

8,000 people sleep rough on the streets of London every year and a great way to start helping was by providing donations suggested by the local charity. After consulting with the Trussell Trust, the team identified the items which were required by the local food banks.

The site team wanted to use the site hoarding in a unique and interactive way and therefore created two collection points in the site hoarding near Moor Lane for food and utilities. Tins of food and toiletries have already been collected by the project team, local residents and offices for the Trussell Trust FoodBank. The collection points fill a gap for the charity as it is a secure collection point which is available outside of shop hours in an area where there aren’t other collection points.

The hoarding collection points will remain open for collection until the end of the project and aims to increase interaction between the neighbours and the site and improve the impression of the industry.
