On the Broadway project we have set up a weekly walking group as well as a weekly running group to boost positive mental health. The group has been open to all office staff and construction staff and comes with a great initiative of receiving a water bottle following five group walks or a t-shirt following five running sessions.

We know a lot of staff working on our construction sites tend to stay in site cabins during breaks so this has motivated them to leave the project and be part of a social group which improves fitness and also enables opportunities to talk to fellow peers.

The running club has been a great group exercise for the staff on Broadway and has a few marathon runners on hand to help give training advice to newbies who are starting out running by nutrition advice and running pace/distance.

The walking group also has mental health first aiders in attendance so this time can be used to discuss any concerns or just create new friendships.
