Harassment is defined as persistent unwanted conduct, unsolicited behaviour or attention of a sexual nature. Some examples of harassment include, but are not limited to:

  • Derogatory language.
  • Unacceptable jokes or ‘banter’.
  • Using terms of endearment.
  • Inappropriate comments or remarks.
  • Unwelcome touching, hugging, kissing, attention of a sexual nature, or generally invading someone’s personal space.
  • Inappropriate comments about a person’s body, appearance or dress.

Even if your intentions are harmless, this type of behaviour might be considered insulting or discriminatory, constituting a form of harassment.

What is the Hub?

The Hub features examples of construction industry best practice sourced from across the UK and Ireland. It can be used by anyone in the industry including site managers, contractors, suppliers and clients, who are looking to improve their standards of considerate construction.

The Hub is a Considerate Constructors Scheme initiative.
