Siltbuster to Protect Watercourses

We have introduced a Siltbuster Solidify XL product to our site in South Kensington to reduce the risk of contaminated water waste entering the local watercourse.

All painting and plastering works on our site are facilitated by a wash down unit so that no water waste enters the sewer system.

At this point we use a small amount of Siltbuster Solidify which works as a coagulant and turns the water waste into a solid. This can then be bagged up and used as regular waste.

We have found this particularly useful during the chemical strip of lead paint within our listed building. This way all the contaminated waste is contained and inert which is vital to keeping lead out of the local watercourse.

The product itself is mainly designed for large concrete wash downs, however we believe it has a place at site level too and are excited to be trialling this system.
