Monthly Safety Stand Downs

A monthly morning meet, chaired by the Construction Director, regarding relevant safety information and things to look out for on site took place. A sound system is utilised to ensure everyone can hear.

Why they do this

  • The entire site attends and stands down from work for half an hour in the morning.
  • This ensures that relevant safety information is received by everyone.
  • Good practice and bad practice from that month are addressed.
  • Global construction safety incidents are discussed, ensuring that we learn from mistakes and avoid becoming complacent.

Was it Successful?

  • The stand down involved the entire workforce.
  • Questions from operatives regarding safety concerns, work and welfare were answered.
  • Safety information was effectively communicated to the whole site

The Next Step

  • Continue with the monthly safety stand downs.
  • Ensuring information is relevant and up to date
  • Continue to engage the entire workforce and address any underlying concerns or questions.
  • Ensure every voice is heard.
