Monthly Safety Stand Downs
A monthly morning meet, chaired by the Construction Director, regarding relevant safety information and things to look out for on site took place. A sound system is utilised to ensure everyone can hear.
Why they do this
- The entire site attends and stands down from work for half an hour in the morning.
- This ensures that relevant safety information is received by everyone.
- Good practice and bad practice from that month are addressed.
- Global construction safety incidents are discussed, ensuring that we learn from mistakes and avoid becoming complacent.
Was it Successful?
- The stand down involved the entire workforce.
- Questions from operatives regarding safety concerns, work and welfare were answered.
- Safety information was effectively communicated to the whole site
