Project Specific Road Safety Booklet

As a Principal Contractor CLOCS Champion, Galliford Try is committed to managing work-related road risk and promoting a positive road safety culture. We align with the CLOCS mission: to ensure the safest construction vehicle journey.

At our Ashley Road East project in Tottenham Hale, our Galliford Try Construction – London & South East Commercial team devised a 12-page A5 booklet to raise awareness of road safety and the CLOCS campaign to our supply chain partners and trade contractors, including the delivery drivers servicing our site.

FORS Silver is a minimum requirement when servicing our site and this is communicated far in advance of a vehicle making a delivery. The booklet reminds all drivers of the FORS and CLOCS compliance required for the project and the checks that our traffic marshals will carry out upon their arrival to site to ensure compliance.

In addition, the team has utilised CrashMap to include a map of the local area, which has a high number of live construction sites, to outline where over the past two years fatal, serious, and slight traffic collisions have taken place. This serves to remind both drivers and the community of any local accident hotspots and allows us to identify any trends that may further inform our construction logistics plan and vehicle routes over the course of the project.

The final inclusion has been informed by RoSPA and includes guidance for both cyclists and drivers on what one would like the other to know.

This booklet has also been shared with pedestrians and cyclists in the local community to raise the profile of CLOCS and reassure them that community safety is as important to us as safety on site.
