Emergency Response Team

Whilst intensive plans and procedures are put in place to protect everyone’s safety on site with regards to injury, things can still happen and people are still taken unwell.

On this project they have set up an emergency response team led by they FREC3 and ex forces personnel who are dedicated and passionate about first aid on site. Between them they are using advanced training to further plans for potential incidents and leading the development of new procedures in how they respond in the event of a first aid emergency, in an aim to speed response times to individuals in need.

In the event of an emergency and a first aid alarm sounding, all members of the response team on site will attend, giving the individual the best possible care until medical professionals can arrive.

This team also leads their first aid forum, aimed to support all first aiders on the project and continually refresh skills. The emergency response team meet regularly to review equipment, what will be discussed at the forum meetings, common incidents and refreshing advanced skills. The team run through scenarios and play to their strengths such as crane rescue and security issues allowing for the best person to lead that incident.

The team are supported by the project H&S team, updating information from them to safety managers on the project and including items at the weekly safety meeting with managers.
