Luxury Vinyl Flooring Take Back Scheme

On this project, they contacted the supplier to ask if they could do a luxury vinyl flooring take back scheme, as they had never completed this previously. This is the first vinyl take back scheme that the supplier have completed in the UK.

To assist the supplier with this the contractor is commercially funding the take back scheme with the expectation that this become a site standard going forward.

To also minimise environmental impact they will back fill transport after drop offs, therefore collection is typically later in the day, rather than sending a vehicle out just for collection. Total will be 6000kg in waste – 400 kg go into each bag with a need for 15 bags.

This initiative will reduce their waste and divert from landfill as the collected offcuts of vinyl will be recycled and reused for injection moulding which means it can be converted into many different items. Examples include outdoor waste bins, cable protectors, traffic cones.
