Portable Sink

When an existing building is being refurbished, site restrictions often require that a room within that building is temporarily converted into a canteen with the challenge of providing a sink with running hot and cold water. This problem was resolved on this particular project by purchasing a Big Synk portable sink.

The portable sink simply requires a 240-volt socket and a container for the fresh water and a container for the waste water. The sink does not require a permanent hot and cold-water supply or permanent waste outlet, so can be located anywhere within a building.

According to water.org.uk the average person in the UK uses 152 litres of water every day. Much of this water is wasted due to running taps for too long or not turning them off properly. This portable sink does not need to be hooked up to plumbing, and will limit users to a 10 seconds water wash. The sink instantly provides operatives with the means to wash up cups, plates etc.

Portability allows the sink to be easily moved within a building, if required. Furthermore, the wastewater from the sink is then kept within a distribution container to then be used to fill dust suppression water tanks to reduce dust hazards on site thus reducing health impacts and reusing water.
