Wasteshark Canal Clean Up
Working close to a waterway In Leeds, where there are regular high winds, it is inevitable that some of the construction waste will end up in the canal next to the site. With the local community and the environment in mind, the contractor decided to contact WasteShark Leeds to do a canal clean up next to the site.
This aquatic drone successfully gathered a total of 928 liters of debris from the water. Approximately 182 liters of this was identified as man-made waste. By implementing this technology on the project they have been able to reduce the environmental impact of construction waste and improve water quality in the canal.
The WasteShark uses a battery powered system, meaning it is eco-friendly and doesn’t contribute to emissions or further pollution. As sustainability becomes a larger focus across the UK, this aligns with both local regulations and broader national goals for reducing carbon footprints.
