Windcatcher Sleeve Installation

Through lessons learnt from previous projects this contractor identified a requirement to improve the means by which windcatcher sleeves are installed at roof level, sometimes with significant falls from height and manual handling being key risks.

The contractor chose to use an overhead gantry system to perform a controlled lower of windcatcher sleeves through preformed openings within the roof slab.

Access from beneath was provided for final fixing of the windcatcher sleeves once the controlled lower and placement was completed, this significantly reduced manual handling requirements and working near to open edge requirements.
