Earth Blocks used for Structural Fire Rated Blockwork

In the construction industry earth blocks have previously been used for aesthetic and/or environmental reasons.

This contractor has gone to the effort to test the blocks to achieve a 3 hour fire rating.

Following the blocks passing this test they are now being used for structural and fire-rated walls.

The earth blocks are formed from blue clay that was extracted from 32 metres down during piling operations on the project.
