Murb Transportable Wind Turbine

A rapidly deployable, transportable wind turbine was developed by Murcott Energy, in conjunction with Network Rail and South Rail Systems Alliance (SRSA).

This device aims to offer renewable energy to remote railway worksites that otherwise would have typically relied on diesel generators for power.

The Murb Wind Turbine is currently being trialled at their site at Old Oak Common.

The transportable nature of the unit is its stand-out feature, but it also aims to provide a longer design life than typical equivalent diesel generators, and at a lower levelised cost per unit of energy produced.

This may offer contractors a lower-carbon, lower cost alternative for temporary remote site energy requirements.
