The Bank Station Capacity Upgrade (BSCU) project is complex in its nature because the new tunnels, cross passages, escalators and shafts must thread between, under and over the existing tunnels and they must remain fully operational during the prolonged period of construction of five years. It is important that all construction works do not affect the day-to-day running of the busy Monument and Bank stations.

During the project, the on-boarding personnel need to be taught the nature of the construction works so we use 3D models during site inductions and briefings as a visual aid to help new starters better understand the project.

The new elements of the BCSU project are coloured in purple with the existing London Underground tube lines coloured as per the tube map. This allows the interface and connection between the Arthur Street and Whole Block work sites can be more easily explained to site workers. It also allows the construction progress to be more clearly explained to third parties, subcontractors, stakeholders and guests before they arrive on site.
