Archaeology Podcast

Expanding its outreach programme to connect to new audiences, this contractor created a new podcast series.

The company was particularly interested in connecting to the local community to share newly-discovered heritage finds and generating a sense of local pride, whilst mitigating the impact of site work.

The podcast titled ‘The Shindig’ created in conjunction with the Red River Archaeology Group provides an informative, interesting and accessible format to appeal to specialist archaeologists, local communities, potential clients, and international audiences.

Comprising of 13 episodes, season 1 delivered nearly 10 hours of original content, with 1,500+ downloads and gained almost 1,900 followers.

Raising awareness of the economic and cultural importance of developer-funded archaeology, the Shindig podcast has created a long-lasting legacy, positively engaging with local communities and inspiring future generations.
