Asbestos spill kit

The local environment must be considered when carrying out potentially damaging construction works.

It must be kept in mind that taking actions to better protect the environment can also reduce the effects of an environmental hazard, posing a risk to the local community.

Asbestos poisoning is a prevalent risk to health and safety in the construction industry and must not be taken lightly.

One site addressed this issue using an asbestos spill kit:

  • The spill kit was provided in the site office;
  • Training was also provided on the use of the kit for all appropriate personnel;
  • The equipment can be used for safe clearing and containing of asbestos contaminated products found unexpectedly on site;
  • It contained various items including overalls, masks, pairs of gloves, asbestos waste sacks and rolls of warning tape.
