Construction companies should try to adopt high standards of care for their employees.

Health risks should be identified, assessed and addressed, to ensure a safe work environment.

An occupational health trade or activity risk matrix should be made available for the workforce.

A number of sites have used the risk matrix ‘Health surveillance by trade’ that has been published by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

They also give advice and information regarding safety-critical workers, medication, drugs and alcohol testing and discrimination.
