To enclose the site perimeter on our Atlantic Square site in Glasgow, BAM has used Fast Fence Greenhoard panels.
The green hoard panels are made from 100% recycled plastics, and are manufactured using materials derived from low-grade, mixed waste plastics which are notoriously hard to recycle and therefore would usually end up being sent to land fill or be incinerated. This process allows the boards to be recycled at end-of-life, offering a closed loop sustainable solution.
The natural characteristics are utilised to manufacture hard wearing, smooth faced, versatile boards. The panels are used along with a recycled steel framework, which has an expected life span of 20 years, making the whole system re-usable and is engineered to perform as an alternative to imported plywood, or to virgin plastic panels, yet in turn being fully recyclable at end-of-life.
Using this type of hoarding has various environmental, construction and commercial benefits including:
- 100% recyclable at end-of-life
- Zero waste to landfill
- Reduces the carbon footprint of our project
- The supplier provides stock management and storage between phases/ projects to ensure re-use
- Disposal and maintenance costs that are inherent with ply hoardings are avoided
- Quick and easy to erect, adapt and dismantle
- The panels are made from 100% recycled plastic, it makes it extremely easy to remove graffiti over timber projects
