Autism Awareness

The Wardian team have been involved in workshops and seminars about raising awareness of autism.

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects people in various ways and is different for each individual. Generally it can come from a specific sensual perspective of the world such as: hearing, seeing and feeling the world differently from others. However, there is also a spectrum of conditions which autistic people share difficulties with such as: learning disabilities, mental health issues and many others.

The Wardian team has been in communication with Transport for London, London Borough of Tower Hamlets and local organisations to develop artistic visual and audible road closure signage and sounds.

Recently, we have implemented a structure that provides informational supplement in the form of road signage for upcoming road and pedestrian closures as this can have a negative impact on autistic people.
