During a review of common injuries onsite, a common trend of cuts from utility knifes was recorded. It was recommended that the company move towards the use of auto retracting utility knives. In order to promote the move, a knife amnesty was introduced and auto retracting knifes were made available to trades working on the project.

Following on from initial feedback from the trades, it was noted that a one size fits all approach for auto retracting knifes was unsuitable. Sisk went out to the market and were able to procure six different types of auto retracting knifes. This allowed trades to try out and experiment with different models in different situations.

A number of these knives were purchased and available through the amnesty and exchange programme.
