Automated Cone Laying Machine

This contractor is using an automated Cone laying machine (ACLM) which can lay out and collect cones, including the setting up of tapers.

Traffic cone laying poses one of the biggest safety risks facing roadworkers. This vehicle can deploy or collect a cone in under ten seconds, removing the need for operatives to manually lift each cone.

The machine vastly reduces the exposure of the workforce to errant vehicles when setting out traffic management on the live carriageway and also removes the manual handling risks associated with cone laying and collecting and reduces workforce exposure to vehicle fumes.
