Automatic Plate Recognition Camera

The Automatic Plate Recognition (APR) camera system allows the site to track all vehicles entering and exiting site at any point we wish. This allows us to investigate any unwanted visitors during shut periods easily, not only being able to flag up visitors number plates, but also then allows fast review of the CCTV system.

The system also will flag up repeat visitors in its system and provide the security operatives to understand any potential threats. It also could allow vehicles to be tracked across site in the event of a H&S incident so we understand where people are at any time, which is very important on a large linear project like a road build.

The project’s carbon footprint is monitored site wide, including details of both embodied carbon, and associated carbon footprint. Whilst we can easily collect data on fuel use for the project vehicles through fuel cards and usage through our on site bowsers, collecting information from suppliers and deliveries can be harder.

The APR system would allow this to be streamlined and avoid missing any vehicles who have not signed in, or delivered direct to site. Linking data together from delivery sheets, sign in register and the APR system would allow for a more robust monitoring program and more realistic footprint calculation.
