This contractor has introduced sustainable safety gloves made from a bamboo based yarn. The gloves contain 45% bamboo viscose fabric from renewable raw materials and natural bamboo fibres.
The production process for these gloves is C02 neutral and solvent free, with a short supply chain. It has been designed with extra abrasion resistance in high-wear areas, extending the product lifespan.
The gloves provide D level cut protection and touch screen sensitivity, meaning that gloves do not have to be removed for tablet/phone use and provide better protection than existing ‘3 finger’ gloves. Glove testers reported high comfort levels and more sensitivity than other D rated gloves due to the thinner, more breathable and flexible fabric.
This product is more sustainable as well as more user-friendly than the plastic-based alternative. Recycled/natural fibres alongside superior longevity for this class of glove significantly reduces resource waste. Thinner gloves with increased cut protection and wicking make working safer and more comfortable.
