Baubot Robotic Drilling Machine

Where tradition excavation involves using machine mounted breakers this contractor is trialling an alternative methodology.

The Baubot machine is a robotic drilling rig that is able to drill a series of preset holes in designed sequence across an area with high precision to the exact dimension and depth of the proposed excavation.

This was used in tandem with Dynacem expanding grout this breaks the concrete apart into smaller section that can then be removed. This prevents the need for breaking the concrete in traditional methods. Due to the smaller size and arm configuration it can also be used for internal works on all surfaces up to 5m in height such as roof and sealing works.

The robot has a number of positive attributes including less noise during drilling compared to traditional breaking attachments along with reduced vibration levels. The reduced impact to the public/businesses situated around the works area is vastly improved from traditional methods. The machine also has in-build dust control to remove 99% of the dust during the drilling works and collecting it sealed bags ready for offsite disposal.
