Bee Hive Installation

Goodmans Fields development has joined the Berkeley group’s initiative to install bee hives on our development. This is being carried out in conjunction with Bermondsey street bees and Dale Gibson as the beekeeper. There will be 4 beehives installed on the roof of the North West block above the Premier Inn Hotel.

We are in the process of (along with on-site planting) connecting with the community around Goodmans Fields, with regards to off-site planting to create more areas of suitable foliage for the bees. We are specifically working with our charity partner, Providence Row.

We are hosting a ‘Meet the beekeeper’ evening on the 26th of April at Goodmans Fields for the residents to present our full plans and allow for an open dialogue between residents, estate management and beekeeper.

In addition to this, the honey that is produced through these hives will be given to the residents as a gift from Berkeley Group.
