Supporting Belfast Pride

Belfast Pride Festival is one of the biggest festivals in the city and runs over 100 events across 10 days. The festival runs from Friday 26th July until Sunday 4th August (Pride Day) and the centrepiece Pride Parade on Saturday 3rd August with many local businesses and community groups taking part. The Belfast Pride Parade is the biggest cross community parade in the city. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots which was marked in many places during Pride Month.

With many members of the LGBT+ community feeling hesitant about joining the construction industry and coming out in their place of work, we wanted to demonstrate that everyone is welcome to work, but also welcome to bring their whole self to work.

We have included the Belfast Pride details in the ‘Local Events’ poster on site, and have also put up a poster specifically to promote Belfast Pride, along with a poster on workplace equality and diversity. We hope that by demonstrating the promotion of equality and inclusion, that staff and contractors will always feel comfortable working on our sites.
