Bespoke Safety Course

BAM Nuttall had identified a need to increase awareness of exclusion zones and safe zones. Research was carried out but neither the CITB nor recognised training agencies can provide the specialist resources that the company required.

Site staff then set about determining the course content and the facilities required to create their own course. A one-day course was developed, aimed in particular at slingers, banksman, and machine operators.

So far 12 operatives have passed through the course and the Director for Safety for BAM Nuttall has decided to roll this out to not only the Railtrack division, but also to civil, marine, and overhead power line operations.
