Operatives that carry out safety and quality critical activities such as excavating near live services, working at height, or installing structural elements for example have been fitted with body cameras to record the works as they progress.
This is to help ensure the activities are carried out step by step as planned, helping to ensure the safety of all involved along with confirming the install quality.
The camera footage will also be useful to record any issues identified during the works that may result in the works being stopped until they have been addressed, as well as being used for the end of task toolbox talk to learn from the good and bad practices.
Just the knowledge the works are being recorded have in the words of the operatives sharpened the focus regarding carrying out the works in line with the RAMS and prestart briefing along with ensuring the install steps are followed to the letter to achieve the desired quality finish.
It has also given them a better sense of safety during the works.
