Braked Pulley

The ‘Big Ben’ braked pulley ensures the safe raising and lowering of goods on scaffolds and construction sites.

The advantage of this pulley over a normal pulley is that you do not need to control the load when it is being lowered. Normally you have to keep your hands on the rope as the materials are lowered, if you happened to let go the load would then fall at speed to the ground uncontrolled.

Big Ben pulley is braked so that if you are supposed to release the rope to lower the load as the break inside kicks in and slowly lowers the load to the ground safely.

The pulley therefore is able to lower loads at a controlled speed, minimising the risk of injury to operatives.

The product has a Safe Working Load of 50kg.
