Breast Cancer Awareness

With breast cancer still being the most common cancer in the UK, about one in eight women being diagnosed with it during their lifetime and 390 men diagnosed each year in the UK, we offered the opportunity to talk about it onsite and learn about the vital early symptoms spotting that can potentially not only save your own life but that of a friend or family member.

The Workshop was run by The Boobettes, who are volunteers from the Charity ‘Coppafeel’, and the content of the presentation comprises the story of the founder of the charity and some other females with the same issues, their journey throughout the healing process, their events across the country, the early symptoms and the support given by the organisation.

The aim is to rise awareness and encourage the workforce to open up and talk about their mental and physical health issues.

After the event one of my colleagues went for a check-up and some issues were spotted and she’s undergoing follow up checks.
