Car allowance policy

Beard Construction felt that their car allowance policy should positively incentivise staff to drive environmental friendly cars.

A by-product of this is that the volume of fuel purchased will decrease as the more environmentally friendly cars use less fuel per mile.

The car allowance for individuals is based on their car’s C02 emissions; more allowance will be paid to drivers of lower emission cars and less allowance paid for high emission cars.

In addition to saving Beard fuel costs, a lower emission and more economical car will reduce the cost of your private mileage, the fuel used for work, and hence your tax bill on your P11D benefit, and your Annual Road Fund Licence.

You base car allowance will not change, but the payment for car allowance will be varied dependent on the level of emissions your vehicle emits.

This is set by bands based on the Vehicle Excise Duty rates and used by the Government to charge Road Fund Licences, and is an indisputable source for car bandings.
