Carbon Dioxide Absorbing Recycled Aggregate

On this project the contractor began sending concrete demolition waste to London Concrete in 2023 from the marine deck demolition and since the pile cropping’s. The concrete is processed and crushed into aggregate to be used as 20% replacement in new concrete mixes being bought back to site.

Taking this one step further they are also using Neustark’s new cutting edge technology, which makes they recycled aggregate absorb waste carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide reacts with the recycled aggregate producing two harmless bi-products. This aggregate is then used in a new concrete mix, batched locally, delivered to site in an electric wagon and poured on site.

The benefits of this process are huge, if more sites are recycling their waste material and using this new technology, they will be actively reducing and removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
