Carbon Offsetting for Individuals

Whilst delivering a virtual work experience programme with 24 young people, the contractor asked them to calculate their carbon footprint as part of a sustainability exercise in the course.

In this task those on work experience calculated their carbon footprint from their daily total food emissions and their carbon footprint to find their total annual carbon footprint.

The contractor is offsetting the carbon footprint for each of the employability candidates to achieve Carbon Neutral status, adding value to their CV which will help them secure employment. They believe that when the employability candidates apply for a job, having a better understanding of the environment and  sustainability will put them in a better position than their peers.

Telling an interviewer that they are carbon neutral and they have a certificate to prove it is a great talking point for interviews.
