Carbon Offsetting Incentives

This contractor is trying to create a more environmentally and carbon aware workforce through a number of different schemes. Seminars are a good way to do this however, they have found the best way is through incentives.

By incentivising carbon offsetting through their employee of the month programme, they are creating a culture that is more aware of the carbon they produce when working on site and when at home. They offer three different employee of the month awards. The first for health and safety, the second for quality and the third for innovation. Each of these receives a certificate that a tree has been planted within their name, offsetting 1 tonne of C02.

This has created a workforce that is more considerate about the carbon they are producing while being positively reinforced through an incentive programme. It has created a lot of excitement and the operatives are proud that they have a tree planted within their name. They are given the location of their tree on the certificate if they wish to visit it.
