Carbon Reduction Through Aggregate

This contractor saved 1800 tonnes of CO2 by using IBAA eco-type 1 aggregate instead of regular type 1 aggregate.

This is approximately the equivalent of 315 single flights from the UK to Sydney Australia. It also prevented 1.13 tonnes of virgin aggregate from being quarried as well as saving 530 black bags worth of residual municipal waste from going to landfill.

This was a new product to the contractor and their supply chain and therefore had to go through multiple approval processes to be accepted.

Using this product reduces wagons on the road, reduces waste from landfill and is available all year round and doesn’t suffer from climate related shortages.
