Care Leavers DIY Workshop
This contractor hosted a three day event for care leavers across Manchester. To do this they hired out Manchester College and invited care leavers to attend a DIY workshop which will give them the skills they need for when they move into independent living.
The three day workshop consisted of electrical, plumbing, painting and decorating, bricklaying and joinery and they used their specialist subcontractors to support the event.
The contractor has also offered work experience and the opportunity for some candidates to apply for apprenticeships. Following on from the three day course the contractor have partnered with with another organisation where all candidates are eligible to get funded CSCS card training.
