Ceiling Protection

We are currently updating the sprinkler system to mall areas at the Centre: MK in Milton Keynes.

While our works are completed at night, we are conscious that while the shopping centre is open to the public, we want to make sure it does not look like a building site, nor disrupt anyone’s shopping experience.

During the daytime, we use bespoke fire resistant sheeting fixed to a zip wire that is fixed centrally to the lower mall ceilings. This is to conceal the works above the ceilings and to minimise any visual impact to the public passing through the centre.

During the works at night, the fire resistant sheets are unclipped from the central zip wire, lowered and placed in front of the retail units and sealed, acting as dust protection for all units affected in that area.

We believe this method working has proved successful so far as we have received minimal complaints regarding dust dispersion and no complaints to date regarding any damage to tenant shop fronts.
