We provided brand new footpaths for Charnwood Borough Council in Loughborough at Dishley Pond, a local favourite destination for fishing, running and walking. CR Civil Engineering offered their services to the community, donating £20,000 in manpower and equipment. The footpaths have been widened, constructed and resurfaced so that there is now a two-kilometre network which makes the site more accessible for visitors.
One of our employees regularly delivers charitable works with organisations to clean local water at canals and ponds. A representative at Charnwood Borough Council then informed them of the need to update the footpath works around Dishley Pond; this was due to the running club who had issues with the route because the footpaths were decrepitating in certain areas. Our member of staff then recommended CR Civil Engineering to recondition the footpaths, to which we were delighted to offer our plant machinery and labour services to the Council to help improve the footpaths.
The footpath enhancement around Charnwood Dishley Pond included laying the footpath base with 6N Fill Material and dressing the top with 15mm Golden Gravel.
The footpaths are regularly used by running clubs, and Active Charnwood, who organise the Dishley Park Run, said “Thank you to local business CR Civil Engineering Ltd. As part of their corporate social responsibility scheme CR Civil Engineering have transformed a path which forms part of the route of the new Dishley Park Run, Loughborough. In 2019 they will further improve the path around Dishley Pool, improving access for everyone to this green space. Feedback from the park run participants, volunteers and other path users has been overwhelmingly positive.”
