Checking Timber Deliveries with Data Scope

All timber used by this site must be FSC or PEFC certified, and all of our deliveries to site are booked in through Data Scope. Due to this, the site has worked together with Data Scope to include the need to specify whether any delivery includes timber.  If yes, the FSC or PEFC chain of custody number (as we only accept FSC or PEFC timber on site) must be listed.

On the Data Scope system, an additional box will then appear where the chain of custody certificate must be uploaded. This encourages dialogue with suppliers as these certificates will have to be requested. This ensures duty of care is maintained.

The delivery notes are also checked on arrival to site as a final assurance.

We also arranged for a sustainable timber specialist to come to site and deliver extensive Responsible Timber Sourcing training to all of our commercial team to ensure the importance was communicated throughout the entire chain.
