Childrens 11mph Poster Competition

Eurovia Contracting North is currently constructing a £5.5M infrastructure project for new industrial plots on the Markham Vale North Development.

With a separate Earthworks contractor and various plot development contractors on site there is lots of traffic on the newly built road and operatives working next to it.

A member of the site team; Alexa Hughes, Placement Student, went to the local primary school and gave a presentation. The pupils took part in “hunt the hazard” game to highlight why it’s not safe to play in construction sites, why we wear PPE and the types of jobs on construction sites.

At the end they were given the opportunity to enter the poster competition for the best 11mph sign.

The entire site team cast their votes on the shortlisted entries. The winners and runners up got their design printed on a mug and their posters were made into correx boards by Eurosigns and put up around site to remind drivers of the speed restrictions.

The pupils then got a guided tour around the site so they could see their artworks and meet the operatives building the new road.
