College Lecturer Visit to Holborough Lakes

At Holborough Lakes we recently invited several Mid-Kent college lecturers to site.

This visit was to show the college Lecturers the kind of environment that their Students would be working in once they have completed their exams. We used the opportunity to update the lecturers on new building regulations and new methods of working.

On the day of the visit we covered the following topics:

  • Full site induction with a member of the site team covering health and safety, site rules and Berkeley Homes policies.
  • Lecturers were shown a first fix, second fix and completed plot. Throughout the different build stages the lecturers were shown the Berkeley Homes quality assurance sign off sheets, and taught how the sign off procedures are carried out.
  • The lecturers found the visit very useful and are going to include experiences and findings from the day in their teaching criteria.

We have now established a strong relationship with the college and as such have arranged for the department heads of the plumbing, carpentry and electrical disciplines to visit the site again after Christmas.
