Combined Noise and Dust Control

At their project for University College London Hospital, Mace have implemented the use of combined acoustically rated and dust control enclosures.

The project consists of providing a new build facility to allow the client to relocate a number of related medical treatment streams into a single new building. The site is located adjacent to the existing hospital and due to the nature of treatment provided at the hospital it is imperative to minimise the effects of noise and dust on the neighbours.

This enclosure protects the site neighbours as well as the operatives working on the site. Exposure to dust and noise are two of the biggest causes of long-term occupational health illnesses and these enclosures protect operatives working near the noise of the cutting operation as well as the person working inside enclosure from exposure to dust. The closure enables a laminar airflow which draws any dust away from the face.
