Communicating with the local community: translating letters

Community liaison is essential in building a good rapport with local residents and businesses.

The needs and concerns of the local community should be listened too and catered for as much as possible.

The sustainable construction project sent letters to surrounding businesses (business units), at the start of the projects renovation.

At the bottom of the letter there was an option to request the letter in German and English and further communications in either of these languages were made available on request.

This catered for the three main languages spoken in the immediate area.
