Communication is key in establishing effective working methods and results.

A construction project is comprised of many moving parts, responsibilities and teams. It is therefore useful to establish a central and openly accessible platform of information and communication. This will improve the efficiency of working practices and project development as well as creating a more integrated workforce.

The examples below demonstrate how one site achieved this:

  • The contractor has used their company intranet to create their own Project Portal as a communication hub for the team in an illustrative and visual manner;
  • The Portal contains useful apps, installation guides and training videos and allows the contractor to view best practices and lessons learned from other projects in a central and secure environment;
  • The Portal allows for improved staff communication and collaboration.

Company intranet is a useful way of promoting the Scheme Code, demonstrating to the workforce and the public the company’s commitment to considerate construction.
