Construction Sport Membership
This contractor is an active member of Construction Sport – an organisation that provides sporting opportunities for construction workers to enjoy themselves, taking part in a rugby match, for example, whilst supporting them both physically and mentally.
Construction Sport also provides help and guidance on mental health issues in several other ways, including a group chat and a weekly podcast. Issues raised in the podcasts are discussed with the company’s workforce.
The organisation’s aim is to raise awareness of, and address, the many factors behind the poor mental health of those working in the construction industry and the high suicide rate amongst construction workers long hours, transient working and pay and conditions.
