Controlling safety with unsafe act notices

Westleigh’s continuous promotion of safety awareness for site managers, operatives and subcontractors has been developed over many years. Within this is a system which was designed as part of the site managers’ live online system, which includes our unsafe act notice.

With this system a site manager can immediately address any operative on site who is not conforming to our stringent health and safety requirements. This could be any issue, from not wearing the correct P.P.E to working at height without following the correct control measures.

When an operative is seen working in an unsafe way, the form is filled out and discussed with the operative who is required to sign it; this form is then returned to the safety manager and remains as “live and current” for all managers to see.

This system is extremely useful in controlling and preventing accidents and injuries, gives real time and up to date information on operatives and subcontractors and also provides statistical information on trends of accidents which are regularly monitored to allow further control measures to be adopted.
