Coronavirus Safe Changing Rooms

At BAM Construction North East’s project for The Northern School of Art in Middlesbrough the site team are using an automated system to keep coronavirus social distancing measures in place.

The changing rooms on site have coronavirus safe space for 5 persons, however, with no windows there’s no way to tell how many people are in there.

The new door entry system automatically counts persons entering and leaving and, when there are 5 people inside the traffic light changes from Green to Red so that workers know they have to wait for someone to leave before they can go in.

A simple but effective way of keeping the workforce safe.

This example of best practice is just one way that projects can work to tackle the virus and reduce the spread. For full guidance and the latest Government advice read the Construction Leadership Council’s Site Operating Procedures.
