Voluntary Coronavirus Assessments for the Project Team

The project is introducing and offering voluntary coronavirus assessments to all operatives and staff, giving the workforce confidence in the knowledge they are working in an extended ‘bubble’. With over 900 people working on the project, the introduction of these assessments can lead to early detection and stop any spread on site, allowing individuals to self-isolate and minimise the risk of further spread to those inside and outside their home.

A survey conducted on site showed that 71% of the project team would like to benefit from this free service, with the remaining proportion being undecided.

Although social distancing guidelines and enhanced hygiene are strictly adhered to on site, this initiative is designed to further enhance and support the safety and wellbeing measures for the benefit of all our people on site.

This example of best practice is just one way that projects can work to tackle the virus and reduce the spread. For full guidance and the latest Government advice read the Construction Leadership Council’s Site Operating Procedures.
